Customer Question

I am currently experiencing nervousness, like chills when you are really cold. I have been very stressed over the past 3 years. We sold a home and moved 3 times while building our new home. I also just lost my mother a month ago. Do you think I should be concerned about a neurological diease like MS, or Parkinson's??

Hi, I am an American Board Certified Neurologist and I am very glad to help you with your health concerns.

The symptom you have mentioned is not at all related to MS or Parkinson’s disease etc. It sounds you are under severe stress due to the unfortunate loss of your mother and also stressful situations like moving, building home etc. Excessive stress can certainly cause your symptom. One or otherway this symptom does not sound like related to anything serious including MS or Parkinson’s etc. You may try to explore treatment options to bring the amount of stress under control with medications or non-medication approaches like biofeedback, counselling, hypnotherapy or acupuncture etc.

Once again I strongly reassure you any serious possibilities appear very unlikely in your case based on the symptom & your history you have mentioned above.

Please let me know if you have any further questions; and if you feel you have received the answer to your question please rate me so that I can receive credit for the time and effort put by me in answering your question.

Best regards,
