I am Dr.Amita and I would be helping you today.

I understand that you did not get a reply to your question earlier than this but unfortunately as experts we have no control on the time the question gets listed for us to answer.

Can you tell me if she is taking any medicines at present for any other problem or disease?

Thank You.

Hi there,
This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

Bursitis is caused by the inflammation of the joint sac.

The fluid accumulates causing pain.

Ice application will help a lot.

Over the counter Naproxen can be taken 1 tablet every 8 hours for pain control.

Please avoid any pressure on the painful joints.

Also avoid any long walking.

The better approach will be steroid injection in the bursa to relieve the symptoms faster.

An orthopedic specialist can be consulte with for the injections.

Best wishes,
It was my pleasure to help you today.
