What could be the cause?
Expert:  DrRussMd replied 2 years ago.
A migraine is a diagnosis.
Migraine causes headaches.
If this is new headache, and you have fever, that can be more serious, such as from meningitis.
Any severe headache that is new needs immediate evaluation.
Determining the cause requires examination.
I suggest you go to the ER at this point.
OK, so that is an initial answer….
