I had a stroke 5 months ago. My balance is off : my left leg is weak & won't lock, then I may fall. I am a 76 yr old woman.

Most of neurological improvement ocurs within first six months following a stroke may have some further mild improvement with ongoing physical therapy ..

It sounds that you need the support of a walker to help you get around and prevent falls..

You may be these steps already

Emphasis after a stroke as far as medical treeatmany is taking steps to prevent yet another stroke...

Your doctor or neurologist is probably addressing this issue..

Reducing clots may be Plavix plus low dose aspirin or other "blood thinner"

lower cholesterol may help protect arteries to the brain such as Crestor ...

If diabetic then good control of diabetes is key

not smoking is vital...
