Customer Question

My mother age 86 had a major neurological occurrence. She had a time 4 years ago of TIA,s and one incident of a seizure. Did therapy, medicine for stroke prevention and seizures for a year. Never having either occur again. Then she had by all accounts and symptoms a stroke. She couldn't talk just garbled, trouble swallowing and arm & leg weakness and her hand in a semi clenched position. She couldn't have an MRI (shunt not being used but still there from 28 yrs ago) so only CT and EEG. Doctor said to be safe would treat with blood thinners and keppra but felt probably seizure. Diagnoses was HBP and cerebral ventricularmegaly. But she had all the after effects of her stroke years ago and Medicare approvals for treatment were based on stroke & seizure and after she died 5 weeks later her death certificate. said stroke and HBP. She was at a nursing home and they called 911 hours after the incident so got to ER too late for stroke medS. Not able to get voice back but a mumble, barely gained movement with leg arm or hand and body start shutting down after 4 weeks. To us all seemed more stroke possible seizure after but surely a stroke. Can this Cerebral Ventricularmegaly cause a stroke etc.
