Yes it is entirely possible that you have ulnar nerve entrapment. This entrapment can lead to burning pain, unable to bend the finger, tingling or numbness.

I would suggest to get an EMG test to evaluate the extent of compression. This entrapment can affect the muscle activity.

Swimming can aggravate the compression so you need to totally avoid for now.

Try to avoid bending your elbow to reduce the compression. Loosely wrap around the towel and tape it, this would help to you to prevent bending your elbow. Boxing also have repetitive motion so that can also make it worse.

Avoid leaning on your elbow or putting pressure on the inside of your arm. For example, do not drive with your arm resting on the open window.

Nerve gliding exercises can help too.
healthydoc :
Nerve gliding exercise like keeping your arm in front of you and the elbow straight, curl your wrist and fingers toward your body, then extend them away from you, and then bend your elbow.
