HISTORY: Memory impairment TECHNIQUE: Coronal and sagittal T1, sagittal FLAIR, axial T2, FLAIR, gradient and DWI. COMPARISON: None available. FINDINGS: There is no restricted diffusion or acute territorial infarct. The ventricles and basilar cisterns are symmetric in size and configuration. No evidence of midline shift or mass effect. Normal vascular flow voids identified at the skull base. Scattered T2 and FLAIR hyperintense foci identified in subcortical and periventricular white matter which are nonspecific. No definite evidence of involvement of the corpus callosum. No evidence of extra-axial hemorrhage. Sagittal images demonstrate normal midline structures. No susceptibility artifact within the brain parenchyma on the gradient series to suggest any hemosiderin deposition. The visualized paranasal sinuses and bilateral mastoid air cells are well aerated. The bilateral orbits are symmetric and unremarkable. IMPRESSION: No acute intracranial process. 2. Scattered T2 hyperintense foci in the subcortical and perv entricular white matter which are nonspecific.
