when did the tremors start?

Thank you. This definitely should be worked up. The best specialist I would recommend is a neurologist with specialization in movement disorders. It is hard to say just by history exactly what is causing this. But an MRI of the brain may need to be done to rule out a problem with a part of the brain called the basal ganglia that controls voluntary movements. This does not sound like a classic description of parkinson's disease because the tremors of Parkinson's will not get worse with movement. The doc may also need to check the different electrolytes in your body that can cause muscle twitches and spasms such as potassium, magnesium , calcium etc. Very rarely a problem in the cervical spine (neck) can cause involuntary movements..though I doubt the herniated disks are to blame.
