Very sorry to hear that. I am not an orthopod but the desciption does not sound like a normal course of healing. It is possible there is nerve irritation, though I would ideally expect some numbness or tingling in the foot. As neurologists, we can offer nerve condutction studies (EMG/NCV) to asses if there is ongoing nerve damage in the foot. This may be a consideration. Otherwise, I would consider getting a second opinion form another orthopedic surgeon who can give a fresh perspective.
