Hello,

When did you first began to having these symptoms?

Do some of them get better?

Other than spinal tap and brain MRI, have you had any other test?

For years I have had pain in my muscles and a positive ANA test so they just said oh it's lupus i also had the uti's and joint pain too over the years i have been somewhat getting weakers. then over this last six months i have become extremly weaker and my memory has just become shot...i started having what we called episode that i talked about getting lost forgetting where i was going or putting my shoes in the freezer they chgd my meds that wasn't it...the symptoms do not go into remission anymore i am too weak lights and heat make me very sick now so does the extreme cold noise irritates me now too i get easily overwhelmed by a crowd of loud noise or too many people i have seen a psychyatrist they can't find the cause. the pins and needles started last month the legs and hands feel like they stay asleep and are heary like i am carrying hundred pounds i can't even sleep because they feel so asleep with he tingling and throbbing, i have had blood test for lupus mercury, etc nothing they ck'd me for everything sometimes the ana is high but not always i am getting weak from holding my arms out even to typa and had to correct almost every word i typed because i typoed it I had a genious IQ so this bothers me. I was always great at everything now the simpist of task is either frustrating due to i have difficulty doing it or there is to much around me or i can't be coordinated enogh and i get mad at myself..right now both my legs feel like they are so asleep i feel like i want to walk to wake them up but i know it won't help

Oh YEAH i had a venous doppler done too it was fine. I am getting very short of breath too. They found small traces (small enough to report it of protein in my spinal fluid)

Seems like there is a lot going on and it is overwhelming you.

It's still possible for patients to have MS with negative initial brain MRI. I would also consider CNS involevemt from lupus or other autoimmune disorders.
ANA is important but non-specific and it can be high in other connective tissue disorders ike Sjogren syndrome or scleroderma.

I would recommend a few things, unless they have been done already:

- MRI of your cervical and thoracic spine to rule out cord involvement on those level (mainly demyelination/MS); since you have symptoms in arm and legs, brain MRI is not sufficient

- checking blood complement levels, anti-phospholipid antibodies, anti-SSA/SSB, anti-histone, anti-dDNA, anti-Sm/RNP

- checking CSF for IgG index; this checks for antibody production in the CSF indicating autoimmune process

- visual evoked potentials

- pulmonary function testing

Hope this helps.
