Hi, can you tell me the age of the piano? Also, you requested an insurance value--would you actually prefer a donation value?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The piano was purchased in 1994. I want a donation value.
Expert:  Tyler, MM, AAGO replied 1 year ago.

Thanks for the information. This piano was likely made by the Samick piano company in China. Howard pianos had been made by either Kawai or Samick for decades. These were lower prices entry level instruments usually in smaller sizes. Considering the piano is about 20 years old and you are looking to donate I would recommend a price of $5,500. Be sure to check with your tax preparer about what exactly they need for a donation. You may need the piano appraised in person or some documentation from the school receiving the piano. Best wishes! Please be sure to select a positive rating at the top before leaving, it really helps me out. Thanks!
