My name is Judith, and I'll be pleased to help you with this question.
You have a workshop violin, a copy of a Stradivarius, made in one of the many factories in Markneukirchen and Mittenwald, Germany at the turn of the 20th century. These instruments were turned out in large numbers, intended for export to the US. Many were originally sold in mail order catalogs, like the Sears catalog. Today, they are still considered to be good student violins (not for concert performers)
If your violin is in excellent condition with very good tone, its current retail (replacement or insurance) value is approximately $1,000. If you were to sell it, you could expect to get the fair market (private sale or auction) value of approximately 40% of the retail amount.
