The serial number you listed dates this piano back to 1944. At 38" it is considered a "spinet" sized piano. These are smaller pianos that came out in the 1930's and while they save vertical space they do so at a cost to sound quality since they have shorter strings and a smaller soundboard than larger uprights.
In today's piano market there are a lot of older spinets being sold so prices do stay on the low side. You mentioned yours was excellent condition so I'm assuming it is tuned/maintained at least once per year. If it has not been tuned regularly the price will be a bit lower than the range I provide. Based on the market and your description your 1944 Schiller-Cable spinet has an approximate value of $375-$500 in a private sale. I hope this helps and wish you the best!
