My grandfather's estate included two...

My grandfather's estate included two old violins:

1) Inside one is the following: "Antonius Stradivari mo., a circle insignia with a
cross and 'A H S", faciebat Anne 17"

2) The second violin inside the following: "Dominicus Montagitana Signo Cremonae Venetia 17, Ludw. Bausch & Sohn, Leipzig 1 (with a small circle upper right of the 1) justerumente,
Hogen, Saiten, Etuis etc. Reparaturere

Can you tell me anything about these violins or their value?

the first violin has label inside, reads:

Antonius Stradivari
mo., a circle insignia with a
cross and 'A H S",

Thank you for the additional information.

What you have is a factory violin, a Stradivarius model.most likely made in one of the factories in Markneukirchen, Germany, around the turn of the 20th century. There were many thousands of these violins made for export to the United States. These are still considered to be good student instruments.

If your violin is in excellent condition, its current retail (replacement) value is approximately $600.
