There are many possibilities that can result in a misfire. Often the only way to resolve this is to focus on each problem area until a solution reveals itself. Starting with the least expensive things makes sense.

Fuel tank vent hose, fuel filter, coil wire connections, poor battery or connections, stator wires and plug, water in fuel, fuel pump, spark plugs, etc. Missing under load could be a lack of fuel or weak spark

so checking all those components and looking for any bad wiring or corroded coil/plug wires might help. Check your spark plug color for clues such as too black (rich fuel) or too white (lean fuel)

Check your charging output is about 14 volts average.

Fuel pumps can be weak and still provide enough fuel to run in neutral. Plugged fuel or air filters can be checked. Check the fuel lines and any vent tubes for obstructions.

No easy fix as you have to carefully go through each system

fuel, wiring, and even mechanical such as compression tests

or air leaks in the intake system which can lean the fuel mixture.

Start with cleaning up coil wires and look for corrosion in the coils.

Check air and fuel filters. Check for loose plugs or bad wires on the charging system. Don't replace any parts until you have gone over

all these things thoroughly. Just a loose battery cable

can weaken your ignition.
