Glide with warm starting issues. Engine will crank normal

Customer Question

Glide with warm starting issues. Engine will crank normal but not fire. Problem started a year ago with not starting on the first try but would fire up on the second try. Now its up to the 3rd or 4th try before it fires. The fuel pump prims its self each time when I let off the start button. When it does finally fire it start right up and runs great.

it sounds like an issue with the engine temperature sensor.

have you checked for diagnostic codes? does the check engine light indicate you have a problem?

tell me everything you can.

2011 Street Gide. When hot (like stopping for gas) it will crank normal but not fire until the 3rd or 4th try. I have true dual exhaust, mass air flow kit, and Screaming Eagle Computer upgrade other than that its stock. Problem started a year ago and is slowly getting worse. Its getting fuel (visual only) not pressure tested.

No code and or check engine light. All is normal as the bike is conserned

sounds like the engine temperature sensor.

I would replace it.

it is the only sensor on your engine that varies with engine temp.
