I have a Yamaha bearcat 350 ATV that the neutral light won't

Customer Question

I have a Yamaha bearcat 350 ATV that the green neutral light won't come on and it won't start. Help Please. I am snowed in + can't get it out to the road.
JA: Just to clarify, what are the exact lights you're talking about?
Customer: The shift neutral indicator light.
JA: What is the model/year of your motorcycle?
Customer: 1988.
JA: Are you fixing your bike yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes, I'm snowed in, 400' from nearest road in Montana. I'm 73 years old + partial disabled.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I need the machine to get out to the road.

On the motor just by where the riders left foot would be is a couple wires that go onto sensors into the motor. If you can identify one that has a light sky blue wire. identify that wire and ground it to the motor. Does this illuminate the neutral light with the key on?
