I have a 2012 kawasaki zx-14, the motorcycle has been sitting for several months, however I warm and idle only every 1 time a week, it ran off of gas, I add gas and now is dificult to start the engine and when start and twist the throttle it falls, is like is run off the gas. What can i check to resolve this issue?

Hi and welcome to the site, I’m Louie. Sorry you had to wait awhile but I’ll do my best to help.

Initially, check if the fuel pump would prime immediately after the initial turn on of the ignition switch.

Still and as it would be a a fuel (starvation) issue, let's check and try the basics. Proposed preliminary tries (if have not been done):

  • check and clean the fuel path;
  • add injector cleaner to the fuel;
  • allow cleaner to settle in the tank;
  • run/idle the ZX a couple of times.

The above would be a slowprocess and may have to be repeated a couple of times.

If still a no-go, then the injectors and fuel pump may need pull down for inspection and cleaning.
