Polaris ranger 700 4x4 2009 double batteries that won't keep

Customer Question

polaris ranger 700 4x4 2009 double batteries that won't keep a charge.
JA: Have you tested the battery with a voltmeter? And can you see if it's leaking or not?
Customer: we think that the model 1314 battery seperator is the problem because it is very hot to the touch all the time until the battery charge gets low and it just turns off.
JA: Are you fixing your Ranger yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: we are trying. the main battery was 11.8 volts and the second battery is 6.8 volts.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: we disconnected the second battery and we have the same problem

With the second battery disconnected, and with the machine running-how many volts is it showing?

I'll have to check that out. It will take a few days as Polaris is in Wickenburg and we are at home in Mesa

Have you had a chance to test out the ranger? Any luck?
