1997 ultra classic. runs a couple hundred yards,randomly

1997 ultra classic. runs a couple hundred yards,randomly shuts off and blows sound system fuse. but it starts back up around 15 seconds later. battery is fully charged,i have not checked connections on battery yet.
JA: Do you have a voltmeter? If so, have you checked the battery's voltage?
Customer: I do have a voltmeter. I have not checked voltage.
JA: Are you fixing your Classic yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes. I have tried nothing so far. will start in the morning though.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: that is all. bike has been running great.

- verify that both ends of all three battery cables have a clean and tight connection.

- verify the cable is crimped well at the ends and is not loose.

- measure the battery voltage under the following conditions:

ignition OFF.

ignition ON.

with the engine at about 2,000 rpm.

- battery + to starter

- battery - to frame stud

- frame stud to starter mounting bolt.
