I was given an atv baja 50 will not run. i am looking how to hack it it start it. can i bypass the rf kill switch? there is no spark or elec. to the coil
JA: Will the headlights turn on? Is the battery fully charged?
Customer: yes i have battery pack on it and use test light so far no go

Customer: i have a battery pack on it and i can not get spark, the key is on and it turns over. i am only using a test light could the raidio kill switch or anything else be hacked to eleminate this problem

Hi Casey, I’m Louie. Sorry you had to wait awhile but I’ll do my best to help.

Initially, determine if this version uses a 5-wire CDI. If yes, then proposed preliminary checks (if have not been done):

  • • ensure that the KILL wire of the CDI is connected ONLY to the safety/engine off switch;
  • • test for low pulsating voltage from the pickup coil to the CDI when attempting to start;
  • • and a higher pulsating voltage from the exciter/capacitor charging coil likewise when attempting to start.
