I fitted a K&N crankcase breather onto a Kawasaki z900 now

Customer Question

I fitted a K&N crankcase breather onto a Kawasaki z900 now oil is flowing out of the breather on to the back of the bike, I removed the original air box that the original breather pipe went into. I don't understand why oil would flow out of this venting system?
JA: When was your last oil change?
Customer: One week ago.
JA: What is the model/year of your motorcycle?
Customer: Kawasaki Z900a 1976
JA: Are you fixing your bike yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I fitted K&N air filters to each carby and removed the air box, then with the crankcase breather pipe exposed I then fitted the breather pipe air filter
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

Did you notice any oil loss before the modification?
