Customer Question

Hey I just got a Honda cbr600 rr 2006 and now it won't start! It tries to, but just won't "catch" thought it was the battery, cause I left the key in and the lights were on for a few hours. So I bought a new battery, but it still won't "catch" any recommendations?

Hi, I’m Louie. Sorry you had to wait awhile but I’ll do my best to help.

Initially, let's review the basics so as to determine which area needs further tests. Proposed preliminary checks (if have not been done) would be to remove the spark plugs after attempting a start:

  • • determine if the fuel pump would prime;
  • • check if the plugs got wet with fuel;
  • • carefully perform a spark test;
  • • and listen if the injectors are clicking.

All others would require the use of a test instrument; i.e. a multi-meter and/or a pressure gauge.
