I have a 2009 fxcwc, last time I road it cut out twice

Customer Question

I have a 2009 fxcwc, last time I road it cut out twice blocks from home. Next time went to start it wouldn't. The next day, started and ran fine, then again the following would not. It is kept on a tender and it seems like more than a battery since it acted up while riding? Could you give me some direction of likely causes?

from what you describe it is most likely the battery or the charging system.

if you would like me to help you determine the cause, measure the battery voltage under the following conditions:

- ignition off.

- ignition on.

- with the start button depressed.

- (if the engine starts) with the engine at about 2,000 rpm (fast idle).
