I am changing the oil pan on a 1999 Ultra classic, all bolts

Customer Question

I am changing the oil pan on a 1999 Ultra classic, all bolts are loose, there are 2 large springs holding down a baffle, the new oil pan does not have these springs, is this an upgrade>? How do I get old oil pan out without trashing the springs?

the springs are part of the baffle.after removing the oil and trans lube and removing all oil pan bolts, remove the oil pan by sliding it to the rear.- the procedure requires the motorcycle be supported by a sling around the frame back bone, from above, with the rear wheel removed.during installation, it may be required to compress the baffle springs with a screwdriver while sliding the oil pan into place.let me know if you need more help.Steve
