We were on our 03 roadglide for a ride and stopped to get gas it wouldn't start. The lights come on but it won't turn over.

Does the bike have security installed? If so is the red key symbol illuminated when the bike is on? Do you have a voltmeter to do some troubleshooting with?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
We don't have a voltmeter. The red key symbol was on. We push started it to try to get it home and the idle was really high. He made it 2 blocks and it quit again.

That key symbol indicates an armed security system (if equipped) or a problem in the turn signal module. Either will disable the ignition. If the bike does not have security the turn signal module can be unplugged and it may allow the bike to start. That module is located under the seat on the right side just behind the battery. Remove the silver clip, pull it up, then unplug it and give it a try.

There are no metal clips behind the battery. When we try to start it nothing happens except the lights come on. The lights, check engine light come on. The red key comes on and goes off. The check engine light stays on. It won't turn over.

There's nothing behind the battery when we took the seat off. It's a 2003 roadglide

We also just put a new battery in it last week.

If the red key symbol doesn't stay illuminated then that isn't the problem. Without a meter it is difficult to check beyond the trouble codes. If the check engine light stays on then you have an ongoing problem. There is a procedure to check the codes through the speedometer. You can hold the trip reset button while turning the bike on it will enter the diagnostic screen. Push the trip reset bottom again and will cycle through the trouble codes.
