How do you remove the starter off of a Honda 300 fourtrax 1997 model?

TIMOTO :

You need to first remove the small starter reduction gear cover on the larger alternator cover on the left side of the engine. Once the cover is off remove all of the reduction gears. when the gears are removed it will allow you to move the starter arount to where it will come off.
