i have a kawasaki bayou 300 and need to replace th starter

Resolved Question:

i have a kawasaki bayou 300 and need to replace th starter motor. I want to know if i can just pull the starter motor out and replace it or do i have to pull the side cover off it as well

to remove and repalce the starter, you need to unbolt the starter asembley, and then the cables as well.

after the starter is unhooked and loose, you can pull it right out. there is a big o-ring that will make the starter stay inside the case, so it may need to be pulled out hard to remove it properley. when you reinstall the new starter, make sure you lube the o-ring to aide in installation.

what year is your klf? depending on your year, you should just be able to push teh starter right into the case hole.
