Replacing ignition switch (99 sportster xl) due to key fall out while in transit, disconnected batt. & bought new one and I'm not getting power nothing even went back with old switch, fuses are good, what am I missing?

is your new battery charged? check voltage with a meter or at least a test light.

battery is charged, hooked on test light, touched battery, good. touched the three exposed ignition wires and got nothing??

there may be a relay or fusible link installed somewhere in that cicuit that has been tripped or burned. did you happen to short anything while installing the battery? or sometimes if the cables accidentally get installed backwards this will happen.
