2005 suzuki: valves..gas tank and carb, compression is good

2005 suzuki RMZ 250 will not sart. i did major maintenance on it. adjusted valves, cleaned up gas tank and carb, compression is good. but it just wont start. with the original CDI it turns on but after kicking it about 30 to 40 times, i can ride it fine but if i shut it off it just wont start. i changed the CDI and it turns on on two kicks but it only iddles, when i give it gas it dies.

do you have good spark all the time, even when it wont start

when you cleaned the carb, did you remove and clear the fuel screw on the very bottom of the carb? it might have had a brass plug blocking the screw

when it doesnt start, spray carb cleaner down the intake(remove air filter) does it start?
