JA: Where exactly do you think the noise is coming from? And how long has this been going on?
Customer: Engine
JA: What is the model/year of your Mitsubishi?
Customer: Almost 6 months now Mitsubishi Endeavor 2006 V6 3.8L
JA: Are you fixing your Endeavor yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Checked valves , rings etc and servuced
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: *** serviced , under load exhibits less less power , especially uphill when stationary the noise is non existent

When revving you will not hear the noise , only while driving , especially when accelerating or going uphill

i would check the timing belt tension to see if the tensioner has failed and could be the rattling and the loss of power up hills.

One more I think , sometimes the car does not start in Park and when I move it to Neutral it starts.
