my car just stopped I got told it has done the timing bekt or chain how can I tell
JA: Do you know your ignition timing number? How many miles are on the car?
Customer: 260 thousand
JA: What is the model/year of your Mitsubishi?
Customer: 2003 ce lanxer coup
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Well I have been told a few thing the only thing that we now it has got not spark from number 1 coil
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No just would like to know for sure if it has done the timing chain or belt whitch ever one it has

If the timing belt broke it will cause a loss of engine compression, the quick way to tell if you are not able to tear it down would be to pull spark plugs and run a compression test on all cylinders. Any cylinders under 100 PSI would mean the engine is likely toast.
