Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If you do hear the motor running then the issue is a mechanical failure of either the motor, guides or cables. It's going to take some disassembly to diagnose and repair the issue. The headliner and sunroof assembly will likely need to be removed for repair.

Were there any problems leading up to it stopping? Was it forced or otherwise damaged?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
I believe it just stopped moving, I can't see any damage
Are special tools needed to remove the headliner and assembly?
Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 7 months ago.

No special tools would be needed for the repair.
