Im having problems getting it started. iv rebuilt the engine

Customer Question

im having problems getting it started. iv rebuilt the engine and it was doing great. now it turns over but wont start. iv put it in tdc twice and on firing order 1 and 4. im thinking its the coil possibly but im not super mechanically inclined?? any thoughts?
JA: Have you checked the battery, particularly the terminal connections? Are they corroded?
Customer: not at all!
JA: What is the model/year of your Mitsubishi?
Customer: just a basic 89 2.6L montero
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I am..... I was hoping it was the timing so I tdc the engine and set thye distributor so it was firing on one but it didn't so I put the dist. so it was firing on four at tdc.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: not really.... I did have it firing on four after I rebuilt it. it wouldn't fire on one
