06 spyder cranks but won't start : Well when I first turn

Customer Question

06 spyder cranks but won't start
JA: Sometimes things that you think will be really complicated end up being easy to fix with Mitsubishi. The Mitsubishi Mechanic I'm going to connect you with knows all the tricks and shortcuts. Tell me a bit more about what's going on so he can help you best.
Customer: Well when I first turn the key to the on position and I'm expecting to hear the fuel pump do it's 2 second prime operation I just heae a clicking sound for those 2 seconds and then when I turn the key to start it cranks but doesn't start.
JA: Many things can cause a car to make those weird sounds. Some simple, some complicated. Fortunately, the mechanic I'm going to connect you with knows all the tricks and shortcuts. Are you hoping to fix this yourself?
Customer: Of course.
JA: Great! What have you tried so far?
Customer: Checked all the fuses and I think all the relays but the more I read from the forums it seems that relays are scattered all over the car and are not in one location
JA: Is there anything else the Mitsubishi Mechanic should be aware of about your Mitsubishi?
Customer: Not that I can think if right now
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Mitsubishi Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

Welcome, I'm Chris (aka Moose). I normally log in after 3 pm central everyday. Please let me know exactly what you need from this conversation so you will want to rate me with EXCELLENT 5 STAR service.

Have you conformed the ignition spark and fuel injector pulse are occurring?

With the key on is the theft light off?

Will it run briefly from a shot of starting fluid?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
1. No. I'm going to test for spark now. But I hear a pulse clicking during the initial 2 sec when key turns to on. Usually I hear the fuel pump during that time.
2. Yes
3. Shot where?
Expert:  Chris (aka- Moose) replied 1 year ago.

You remove the air intake tube from the throttle body, hold the throttle full open then spray into the throttle body.

Ok, gotta go get some starter fluid. Nrb

No change with starter fluid added to the throttle body air intake port.
Expert:  Chris (aka- Moose) replied 1 year ago.

OKay since it will not start briefly on starting fluid that means there is no spark or it is out of time. Can you confirm there is spark and good compression.

Hello again Chris here,

I am contacting you because the post has not been closed or rated. We have 7 days to get a post rated before it times out. When a post times out, that means its no longer on my active list (if you reply I never know it.) Let me help some more. Is there anything else you feel I could offer so you would be pleased with my help. I have the option to call you if that would be better.

Thanks Chris
