Mitsubishi Galant ES: 2000 galant 2.4l trouble code p0170 fuel

Customer Question

2000 galant 2.4l trouble code p0170 fuel trim Bank 1

Hi there.Code P0170 sets when the fuel trim stays too large or too small for more than 5 seconds. Possible causes are exhaust system leaks, intake vacuum leaks or faulty mass air flow sensor (MAF).If there are no leaks, erase the codes; then remove and thoroughly clean the MAF with an appropriate cleaner (click here to see example). Make sure the air filter is clean. Reinstall the MAF and drive the vehicle. If code returns, replace the MAF sensor (click here for example). Please let me know if you have any other questions.Best Regards.
