My name is ***** *****. I have a 1999 Mitsubishi Galant ES 4

Customer Question

Hi, my name is ***** *****. I have a 1999 Mitsubishi Galant ES 4 cyl. I am having a problem where the left coil pack (looking at the engine) is constantly damaging, even after 20 mins of driving. It runs only on 2 cylinders and if I change it out it runs on 4 until that one damages as well
JA: Thanks. Can you give me any more details about your issue?
Customer: Why do I have constant ground on all 3 of those wires to that coil pack?
JA: OK got it. Last thing — Mitsubishi Mechanics generally expect a deposit of about $18 to help with your type of question (you only pay if satisfied). Now I'm going to take you to a page to place a secure deposit with JustAnswer. Don't worry, this chat is saved. After that, we will finish helping you.

Hi,

Are you using genuine Mitsubishi coils or aftermarket coils?

Do you have a volt meter? If so can you please measure the voltages on the three wires to the coils? You should have one ground, one 12V and one low voltage (under 3V) wire on each coil. We want to confirm the reading on the low voltage wire.

I'm using Mitsubishi coils. Low voltage had 0.8. If I leave the ignition on it heats up that coil quite a bit.

Thanks. And your .8V wire, what does it read while cranking (both coils)?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The other doesn't have a low voltage.

What is the voltage on each wire, all six wires? Key on and cranking.
