There are a few components to the planetary drive however the most common to have an issue on the Sport is the carrier assembly. The planetary carrier assembly (the one that has the smaller "planet" gears) is $325 from Mitsubishi, though likely can be sourced aftermarket is purchased through a transmission rebuilder.
To change the planetary carrier or other planetary components will require removal and disassembly of the transmission. For a 2WD model this is 9 hours in labor, for a 4WD model 11 hours in labor.... so essentially about $900 in labor. This would include time to clean the transmission thoroughly of any debris as well, as the time includes complete tear down for debris removal.
