Mitsubishi Lancer: My 08 Lancers check coolant light started

Customer Question

My 08 Lancers check coolant light started flashing, dealer just did a coolant flush, they told me the float in reserve tank might have been malfunctioning, and that with the flush it would fix problem. Less than a week later the check coolant light started flashing again? The temperature bar was in the 3/4 range of hot, when I ran the heater it went down some.

Hi I'm Kevin I don't really understand why the dealer told you coolant flush would solve float issue sounds a little odd .unless they have got air trapped in system this would not make system run warm either .is coolant level ok when engine cold ?

Yes, level is normal when engine is cold

It sounds like you have either two problems 1 with the reservoir float and one with the actual cooling system itself. When temp raises above normal does it go into red or just run slightly hotter than normal?
