Can you provide some context? I see the question

if there was a minimum amount of time for time during which a national guardsman was on active orders for those days activated to count toward active duty retirement.

But I do not understand the context...what is going on?

I'm trying to get my BASD adjusted, but the retention NCO my battalion's retention NCO is referring to (he's new) is insisting that if it wasn't for 14 consecutive days then time that i have orders for doesn't count toward the adjustment of my BASD. My issue is that none of the regulations i've looked in say anything about that. Would you happen to know the answer, and if the retention nco is right can you tell me which regulation i can find that in?

Thanks

You get one point for every day of active duty service.

Please let me know if you have more questions. I am happy to help if I can. Otherwise, please rate the answer so I may get credit for my work.

Is this free to ask a question? so it does cost to talk to
I was in the USMC in 1976 was in about 40 days I got injured hernia issue,,, I decided it best for me to see my own doctor, they gave me a DD214 and an Honorable discharge dd256, Under Medical issue I assume.. according to the VA if you served before 1980 there is no certain time that needs to be served to get VA benefits.. I was wondering what my chances are of being able to get VA medical care or other benefits. Length of Service Prior to September 8, 1980, there was no minimum length of service necessary to be considered a veteran for most VA benefits. However, for an individual who enlisted after September 8, 1980, there are now certain minimum length of service requirements. The general requirement is either 24 months of continuous active duty or the “full period” for which the servicemember was called or ordered to active duty.14 .. thanks you very much… read more
