That is, I do not understand the issue...you say you want out now...but also want the citizenship...what does that mean?

If you "quit" (so leave without permission), then you would likely receive an other than honorable discharge.
And based on the program for which you obtained citizenship, your citizenship may be revoked if you are separated from the military under “other than honorable conditions” before completing five years of honorable service.
So you do not want to just quit...that would be unwise.
You can continue to request to be released...but I would not quit.
