Thanks, Jay. I keep getting a message about "dot.Normal template" -- I've tried Text Edit, etc. to no avail. Your help is appreciated.

I'd like to know the nature of the problem, e.g. "obsolete version of Word," or, "Try using this app" before incurring further costs beyond the $39 I've already committed to.

I believe that office has become corrupted, can you try removing it from the mac and then reinstall office and see if the documents will open, if not we can try a few other fixes. Please try and let me know. Jay
