Hello,

What exactly do you need help with?

Thank you,

Jason

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
I am a teacher.
I have set up a system on the school server where each teacher has a workbook to enter test data.
A second workbook is linked to each of those workbooks so all the data can be collated.
It has been working for 3 months but suddenly the second workbook can no longer find the individual workbooks. When I open that workbook, and get the Update option, it cant find the other workbooks.
They are all still in the same place.
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
The permissions have not been changed
Expert:  Jason Jones replied 4 months ago.

I understand that you don't wish for me to remotely connect to your system so that I can further analyze and fix the problem.

Are the documents that are being linked, still in the same location?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Thats correct. Its an Education Queensland Server and you wouldnt be able to remote in anyway
Expert:  Jason Jones replied 4 months ago.

Are the documents that are being linked, still in the same location?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
nothing has been moved.
All the files are in one folder.
Inside that folder there is an Admin folder and a folder for each year level.
Inside each year level folder are the workbooks for each teacher and inside the Admin folder is the master collection workbook.
Expert:  Jason Jones replied 4 months ago.

Within Excel, have you tried relinking each document?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
It asks to be linked to each document.
I have gone and relinked each document as it has been asked for.
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Bur when I go back and try and ope the workbook again, it asks for the location of each workbook again.
Expert:  Jason Jones replied 4 months ago.

It sounds like you are doing all that I would do in order to fix it. Without remote assistance, I cannot do much more.

I have run out of ideas.

For this reason, I am opting out of the question and allowing another expert the chance to help.

The next expert will see all that is on this page, so there will be no need to repeat anything.

When another expert picks this up, you will be notified by email.

Thank you for your patience.

I am a teacher and have created, on our school server, a system for collating staff maths data using Excel.
Each teacher has a workbook on the server that they enter their student maths data into.
The teacher workbooks are then linked to a master workbook that collates all the data into year level and school data.
I set it up in January and so far teachers have entered 2 lots of data. That data has transferred across to the master workbook ok.
When I went to check it 2 weeks ago, I opened the master workbook and I got the option to Update, which I clicked but it couldn't find any of the teacher files. I individually relinked them, saved and closed the master workbook but when I reopened it, it couldn't find the files again. They files haven't been moved. I have a Maths Data folder. Inside that are 7 year level folders (Yr1, Yr2 etc) and inside each year level folder is a class workbook. The master workbook workbook is in an Admin folder inside the Maths Data folder.
I am struggling working out why they will no longer link,
Thanks
Bryan
