On your computer, please go to Control Panel->System. What Windows is your computer running on?

Is this the first time you install Microsoft Office?

Yes I only had the introductory one on my computer word starter

Please go to START and type Programs and Features and press Enter. On this list, look for Microsoft. What do you have?

Microsoft Office 2003 and Microsoft Word Starter?

no microsoft office 2003 cannot see word starter

there are a few microsoft visual C++2008 redistributable x869.0.3

microsoft net framework

" office 2010

" Home and student 2013

" office starter 2010

You said that you try to open 2013. Seems like your computer have more office. Please first uninstall in order.

Select Home and Student 2013 and select Uninstall.
When done, select Office 2013 and select Uninstall.
Then select Office Starter 2010 and select Uninstall.

After all 3 are uninstalled, reboot your computer. Then run the Office 2013 disc and install it. After installed, run and see if you will be able to use Office 2013.
