My Excel files ALL now open with only a blank, gray screen. They will open opnly in IE.
Just happened yesterday and applies to every excel file...old and new.

Scanned for vitus and none detected. XP operating system. Media Center Office 2003.

Try this:

Start Excel, then on the menu bar click Window > Arrange > Tiled > OK

Hope this helps. Let me know if that does not fix the problem

Cannot click on anything under "Window" It will not allow

Your suggestion indicated that I did not make the problem clear. The problem applies only to excel spreadsheets that have been previously saved and contain data. When opened in Microsoft, the resulting excel screen is totally gray, no lines, no data. Clicking on the Menu bar opens nothing.

Can you open a New blank sheet?

I can open a new one. But, if I save it, when I re-open it, there is a blank gray screen

Ok open a new one, then click Tools > Options > General, and UNcheck the box "Ignore other applications". Click OK

It will NOT allow me to click on "options"

I still think you're not understanding. I DO NOT WANT TO OPEN A NEW EXCEL FILE. I can open any existing file but the resulting screen is blank and totally gray. No data shows at all. And most options on the pull-downs from the menu are not operable.

The only reason I asked you to open a new workbook was to enable you access the Tools > Options menu
