Excel formula not copying

This answer was rated:

My Excel suddenly started not copying down formulas. It works when you put in a formula either by entering the cell or clicking the cell with the mouse. But the cell will not repeat the result of that formula when copying down to update a column. It also does not update the result if you change the amount in one of the cells in the formula. I was using Excel 97, but just purchased Microsoft Office 2010 and it did the same thing. My old version is still on the computer if that matters. Any suggestions?

Try formatting your cells as "General"

Also please click on File > Options > Formula and check to see if Workbook Calculation is set to Automatic.
