Customer Question

I have had a computer "die," and have built a new one. Fortunately, all of my data on the old computer was backed up on an external drive. Now, I need to pull my Outlook data from the external backup drive and put it on the new computer. I have found my "Favorites," and successfully migrated them to the new computer, but I need help with (1) Address Book, and (2) archived emails.

Hi James, I was using Windows 7 Ultimate on the old computer, and Windows 7 Pro on the new one, and Outlook on both computers.

Thanks so you have some .PST files on and External back up ?

Customer: replied 5 years ago.
I did a search for .pst files, and none show up on my backup data drives, but 779 files and folders show up on my C drive, many of them associated with Type: WAD Files, PSTL files, games, a medical dictionary, and so forth. None of them will open, of course, because I'm searching in Windows Explorer, and not in the program they are associated with. Does this help?

We need your email that is backed up on the External drive this should be a >pst File ?

Customer: replied 5 years ago.
I started this thread on October 30, and it's Nov. 8. I've had to move on. Response times of more than 48 hours are usually not helpful. I tried to answer your question of November 2, 553 pm, by saying that I have hundreds of folders that have .pst files in them, and then you asked 3 minutes later "We need you email that . . . should be a pst file." I already said I couldn't locate the particular folder in question because there are hundreds of them. Sorry, we're just not communicating effectively.
