It looks like you don't have the office disk; if it's something else, please let me know.

First, go to Start, control panel, uninstall a program, and make sure you have the microsoft office program, if any, removed.

Then please go to
, then click on Download and enter your Office Home and Student 2010 product key to download and install.

Can I plug the laptop into my ADSL mdem on my desk top ?

If you don't have a router, then you can remove the network cable from the desktop and connect the laptop. Or you can just download on the Desktop, then transfer it to your laptop via a USB / flash drive and install. Thank you.
