Customer Question

It cranks but won't start. It ran for about 200 y6ards then started to buck a bit . It started up and quit a few times and now just won't start. Seems like how the old school cars acted when the fuel pump was bad. Is there a fuel pump relay I can check?
JA: Has your car been stalling?
Customer: Only a couple of times a few months ago. If you don't push in the clutch quick enough when coming to a stop. Not that you forget to push it in but the idle drops to 300 or 400 and seems to come back up to 900.
JA: What is the model/year of your Mercury?
Customer: 200 cougar. 2 liter 4 cyl.
JA: What year is your Cougar?
Customer: 2000. It looks like my last entry , I left out a 0.
JA: Are you fixing your Cougar yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I may. It just happened yesterday. I drove 80 miles or so and came home to change and it acted up upon restart 10 minutes later.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I had timing belt replaced about 15000 miles ago.
