Customer: it's a 2010 Mercury Milan
JA: Are you fixing your Milan yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I haven't tried anything yet
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: just want to know if it means my rear brakes need to be replaced
JA: How many miles are on the car? Are these the orignial brakes?
Customer: yes it is and i am pretty sure it has about 23,000 miles on it

The check parking aid message refers to the parking sensors in the rear bumper. What was just fixed?

You probably don't need brakes at 23k miles- especially not rear brakes. They tend to last until over 50k.
